10 Years of Racing History
How We Got Started
The Millennium Marathon organised by the Millennium Marathon Sports Company is the city of Accra’s premier international half marathon with an AIMS-certified course. It is a colorful half marathon that showcases lovely monuments of Accra and other tourist attractions including the Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum, the National Theatre, and the Jubilee House.
Over the past 10 years, The Millennium Marathon has brought together thousands of runners to the city of Accra to run, compete and win amazing prizes. Different nationals join the race each year not only to run but to explore the city and have fun.
There is a 5-kilometer race that attracts a colorful display of unique race attire, singing, and local drumming and dancing. The race starts at the famous Freedom Arch and ends at the Black Star Square.
Our First Race
The Millennium Marathon had its maiden race in 2015 bringing together hundreds of runners to the center of the city of Accra. Different nationals join the race to explore the city and have fun.
