General Information

To Qualify For An Elite Position at the KGL Foundation Millennium Marathon, Each Athlete Must Be In Good Standing With Their National Athletics Governing Body. Qualification To Enter The Elite Field For The 2024 KGL Foundation Millennium Marathon Opens From 15th February 2024 to 1st August 2024.

Elite Runners

Your qualifying performance for a marathon (or half marathon) must have been run at an event with a course certified by the Association for International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS), or a National Governing Body for distance running for the country in which the event was held.

Millennium Marathon reserves the right to choose athletes for the elite field on a first come first serve bases. The size of the elite field is reviewed each year based on the level of sponsorship and applications.

Application for assistance is reviewed one month after registrations commence. Athletes who meet the criteria for assistance will be contacted.

Please note that all runners in the Elite start zone must wear their designated vest.

Code of Ethics Statement

In order to apply for elite entry and race for prize money at the Millennium Marathon, athletes should have a clean drug test record. The Millennium Marathon will immediately disqualify any athlete that tests positive for using performance-enhancing drugs.
Prize money and incentive bonuses will not be awarded to athletes that test positive for performance-enhancing drugs. Athletes returning from a drug suspension will not be recruited, and they will not be offered assistance to the Marathon.
