PRIZE MONEY AND PAYMENT
Eligibility for Prize Money
1. Provisional Results
All prize-money awards shall be subject to verification of official race results. The Millennium Marathon Organising Committee (“the Organiser”) reserves the right to withhold payment pending verification of an athlete’s identity, finishing position, eligibility, race compliance and any applicable anti-doping or other regulatory checks.
2. Disqualification and Withdrawal of Prize Money
Where an athlete is subsequently disqualified, found to have breached the Rules and Regulations, provided false or misleading information, used an ineligible substitute, or is found to have committed an anti-doping violation, the Organiser may withdraw the prize money and require repayment of any amount already paid.
3. Payment of Prize Money
Subject to completion of all required verification and receipt of accurate payment information, prize money shall ordinarily be paid within 90 days after the race or after doping results and other investigations have been finalized. The Organiser shall not be responsible for delays arising from incomplete, inaccurate or incorrect banking or payment information supplied by an athlete
4. Taxes and Charges
Each athlete shall be responsible for any taxes, levies, bank charges or other statutory deductions applicable to prize money received, in accordance with the laws and regulations of the applicable jurisdiction. The Organiser may make any withholding required by law
5. Banking and Identification Requirements
Winners shall provide valid identification and accurate banking or other payment details requested by the Organiser within the stipulated period. Prize money shall only be paid to the athlete who earned the award, unless otherwise required by law or expressly approved by the Organiser.
6. Ties and Equal Placings
Where two or more athletes are officially recorded as having the same placing, prize money shall be allocated in accordance with the Millennium Marathon’s published prize-money structure and competition rules.
7. Final Determination
The Organiser’s determination of eligibility for prize money, following completion of its verification process, shall be final and binding, subject to any appeal process expressly provided under the Millennium Marathon Rules and Regulations.
