ABOUT THE RACE

THE CITY RUNS AT NIGHT

On Saturday 12th December 2026, the Millennium Night Run returns to Accra for its second edition. As the sun goes down, 2,000 runners will gather at El-Wak Sports Stadium in Cantonments to take on the city by night.
The Millennium Night Run was created to bring something new to running in Ghana: a race that blends fitness, music and celebration. Runners take to an illuminated route with live DJs, entertainment zones and supporters lining the way. At the finish, every participant receives a medal before the celebrations carry on into the night at the after-party.
The event offers two distances. The 10K is for runners looking to test themselves under the lights, whether they are chasing a personal best or stepping up to a new distance. The 5K run/walk is open to everyone, from first-time participants to families, friends and colleagues who want to share the experience together. Whatever the distance, the goal is the same: to run the night, feel the music and celebrate the moment.
